From up here

Ah, there you are...

Thanks for looking me up.  The 'From Up Here' pages are creating some good feedback and it is intended to keep a regular flow of items of interest to soarers and club flyers everywhere - along with some stuff that we couldn't publish anywhere else...

Serious, printable queries are always welcome - if I don't know, I probably know a man who does...  Do not hesitate to ask.  Everything you find here will be copyright Chas Gardiner but ask and you may be lucky...

We will try to keep the format simple - no bells and whistles - so that it can be down loaded as quickly as possible.  Your suggestions and contributions will always be welcome of course along with photos in jpeg format please.   E-mail me and you will be added to the mailing list for news of future updates.  Look for latest update to the left.

Due to an increase in 'spam', e-mail addresses on these pages are now spelled out. Just replace (at) and (dot) with @ and .

Up here is in Chashire incidentally, and is not to be mistaken for the County Palatine of a similar name.  Chashire is an area bounded by a slope for any wind direction and the field where we fly thermal.  The club's new open electric site is even closer.

The famous Liz and myself tend to spread ourselves around a bit too so if you want to talk about holidays, other club's events or whatever, just ask.

For me, aeromodelling goes back to free flight in the forties and fifties as a member of the then Cheadle DMAS.  A long lay off following an active involvement with off road motor cycle sport (that still continues) was ended with the formation of the Bats club in 1978.   The RCM&E 'From up here' column started as recently as 1982 and I enjoyed three years as editor of 'Silent Flight' - amongst other things.  The best way to get the rest of my life story is to buy me a beer.  The best way to shut me up is to buy me two beers...

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best wishes from up here,

Chas Gardiner
