I've been having a think about these pages that haven't really changed that much for some time.   The original intention was to supplement the 'From up here' column in RCM&E that first appeared in September 1982 and ran for a continuous 25 years under seven different editors until September 2007.   Some kind of a record methinks but for various reasons, time to take a break.

This format was adequate when the site kicked off.   MS Front Page - wow - but how primitive compared to the technology and skills now available.  Makes me feel humble.   MS 'Expression Web' is the current choice so we'll see how that goes...  The 'Links' entries mainly concerns stuff that interests me - but do have a peep, you might learn something.

'Up here' is in Chashire incidentally, and is not to be mistaken for the County Palatine of a similar name. Chashire is an area bounded by a slope for any wind direction and the flat field where we fly thermal - glider and electric self launch gliders.   The famous Liz and myself tend to spread ourselves around a bit too so if you want to talk about holidays, other club's events or whatever, just ask.'  

For me, aero modelling goes back to free flight in the forties and fifties as a member of the then Cheadle DMAS.  A long lay off following an active involvement with off road motor cycle sport (that still continues) was ended with the formation of the Bats club in 1978.   The RCM&E 'From up here' column started as recently as 1982 and I enjoyed three years as editor of 'Silent Flight' - amongst other things.  The best way to get the rest of my life story is to buy me a beer.  The best way to shut me up is to buy me two beers...
