COMPUTER SUPPORT OPERATIONS OFFICER, PENTAGON 1990 - 1992
1. As Computer Support Operations Officer for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense
for Production and Logistics (OASD(P&L)), managed installation, operation, maintenance, and

2. Upon collapse of Desktop III (DT-III) computer purchase contract, tasked to replicate order of almost $1 million of computer equipment using Small Multi-User Contract

b. Severe deadline of end of fiscal year imposed great urgency on this "almost-starting-from-scratch" project
c. Through immense coordination, successfully reestablished requirement
d. After spending weeks researching and revalidating these office automation requirements, discovered SMC no longer available
e. In less than one day, put together yet another computer order on yet another available contract
f. Purchase eventually aided immensely in enhanced productivity of P&L, allowing more
personnel access to the network, and was critical to congressional inquiry responses by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition
g. Saved government $40,000 when suggested buying computers without monitors and instead using those which were to be excessed along with replaced PCs
3. In less than three days, used electronic mail to its full potential as a brainstorming tool to develop standard software set for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition (OUSD(A))
a. Information helped to determine guidelines for software requests, personnel training, and developing performance plans
b. Later discovered OUSD(A) had already spent thousands of dollars to a contractor to come up with exactly the same information over a long period of time
