The rain stayed off while I was at New Brighton. I left before the event had finished as we were getting a little chilly standing around and I needed to ready for a birthday party in the evening. On the way back to my car we bumped into some friends from church. Speaking of bumps apparently several cars attempted to go through the chicane at the same time and there was a crash shortly after I left.

Overall Position Description
1 The dry weather seemed to suit the Darrian T90 driven by Chris Davis / Brandon Parker. The last time a Darrian won was in 1991.
2 The Subaru Impreza WRC driven by Lyndon Barton / Simon Hunter came next.
3 For the first time in since the year 2000 a MG Metro 6R4 didn't win the rally. Despite the best efforts of the mixed team of Chris Wise and Tracy Taylor-West their 2500cc 6r4 only came third.
