People - A Second Adam

Who is the second Adam? Did God leave us guessing or was it foretold in the scriptures?

Lets start at the beginning, Genesis. Here we learn about creation and the fall of man (Adam).
Look more closely at the prophecy Genesis 3 v 14 - 15.
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
"Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head and you will strike his heel."

This tells us that the Messiah will be a descendant of Eve who will defeat the devil.

Is this all that God told us? Part of a prophecy given by the prophet Nathan to king David in 2 Samuel 7 v 16:
Your house and your kingdom shall endure for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever.
This narrows the Messiah down further to a descendant of king David and an eternal kingdom hints at the defeat of death itself. Death was part of the curse caused by the fall of man.

Do the prophets tell us anything about where the Messiah will live? In Isaiah chapter 9 the prophet wrote
1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress.
In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honour Gaililee of the Gentiles, by way of the sea, along the Jordan -

2 The people walking in darkness have a seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.

Is there any hint where the Messiah will be born? In Micah chapter 5 the prophet says:
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

The life of Samson hinted how death and finally the devil would be defeated. The Messiah would have to die and demonstrate his victory by coming back to life.
