People - Job
Job lived about the same time as Abraham.
He was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil (Job chapter 1 v 1 - 4).
Satan took away his children, his wealth and his health (Job chapter 1 v 6 - chapter 2 v 10).
Three of Job's friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite came to comfort him. They all offered advice - blaming Job for the situation (Job chapter 2 v 11 - chapter 25 v 6).
A younger man, Elihu offered better advice, saying that God is greater than man (Job chapter 32 - chapter 37 v 24).
The Lord asks Job "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?"... (Job chapter 38 - 40 v 2).
In the end Job gains more wisdom and is twice as blessed as before (Job chapter 42 v 1 - 16).
