People - Judges - Ablimelech

After the death of Gideon, Israel prostituted themselves to the Baals.

The men of Shechem made Ablimelech king and killed 70 sons of Gideon. The youngest son Jotham was not killed.

Later the people of Shechem rebelled and Ablimelech destroyed their city. In a subsequent battle at the city of Thebez a woman dropped an upper millstone on Ablimelech cracking his skull. He called on his armour bearer to kill him so that they couldn't say a woman killed him.

Ablimelech was the sixth judge of Israel (Judges 9 v1 to Judges 9 v55).
