People - Kings - David
Second King of Israel, reigned for forty years over Israel (7 in Hebron and 33 in Jerusalem).
Introduction
David is a man after God's own heart.
... the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people (I Samuel chapter 13 v 14)
There are several stages in David's life:
The early years These take David from being a shepherd to making a convenant with Jonathan, Saul's son.
In Exile David goes into exile pursued by King Saul until the death of Saul.
Reigning The people accept David as King of Judah and then Israel.
