People - Mary

When Elizabeth was in her sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a virgin pledged to be married to Joseph. The angel told Mary that the Holy Spirit will come apon her and she will bear a son, Jesus. Mary was troubled, in those days having a child before getting married had major financial implications and there was social stigma about the situation which could also cost her relationship with Joseph. After the angel had explained the situation Mary said "May it be to me as you have said." (Luke chapter 1 verses 26 - 38)
