Family Members - Mark Hyland - House

	Here is a picture of my house. The picture was taken before I purchased the house, hence the for sale sign. Since purchasing the house many of my relations have helped with work on the house. The chimney at the left hand side of the house has been taken down.
	As you will be able to see, the drainage where I live was not wonderful and my gardens tended to flood.
	In 1998 we dug a land drain in my back garden. In 1999 we dug a land drain my front garden. Here is a picture of my Dad just finishing some digging.
	In January 2001 we had quite a snow fall. Here is a winter scene in my back garden.
	Around the pond in my garden are lots of irises (June 2001).
	I also have lots of flowers (June 2001). The more observant may notice that acrobatic snail!
	In the Summer there are lots of butterflies in my garden. In August (2001) I decided to take a picture of a butterfly. To take a picture with my camera you have to get really close to the butterfly. It took several attempts before a butterfly stayed still enough for me to get a picture.
	I finally saved up enough money replace my aged porch (January 2002). Here is a picture of the porch just before it was taken down. The woodwork was rotten and the paint was peeling off.
	I finally caught sight of a newt in my pond and it was still there when I came back with my camera. (May 2002)

	To help keep the heating bills down I insulated my loft. Bits of polystyrene seemed to get everywhere (Sept/Oct 2002)
	There were some strong gales in late October and early November and some of my ridge tiles made a bid for freedom. I went with my Dad to purchase some replacement tiles and we both got soaked walking around a builders yard. Once I had paid for the tiles we started working. My Dad climbed up the scaffolding and worked on the roof while I mixed the cement. I was pleased when we finished the job and took the scaffolding down all in the same day.(Nov 2002)
	I finally finished replacing the fence in my front garden. It is no fun trying to chisel through concrete, but fortunately I had lots of help from family members (October 2003)

	I gave my digital camera a proper test, I took a picture of a butterfly. (April 2004).
	Since I have been in my house the tv picture has never been good. The situation didn't improve when the tv aerial started pointing down to the corner of my garden. In December I bit the bullet and paid for someone to replace the aerial (Dec 2005).
