Journal - December 2002
Sunday - 1st December
At the Christmas presentation rehersal someone said it would be good to have a door as a prop. As I had one in my loft I volunteered to provide the door.
Monday - 2nd December
I started a new program at the gym. Instead of doing a split program, I am doing a fairly basic program, but doing all the exercises slowly so they are more effective.
Tuesday - 3rd December
Is it that time already? I have noticed that I always sleep well the night after starting a new program at the gym.
When I arrived home from work I found my Dad had connected up a light in my porch.
Wednesday - 4th December
I discovered that my car was smaller than I thought, but with the aid of a few elastic straps I had the door in my car. I took it to the church building as I was going there for musicians rehersal.
Thursday - 5th December
The weather is expected to get colder tomorrow, there may even be a frost.
Friday - 6th December
Winter seems to have arrived, I demonstrated that walking quickly from the car park to the office is a good way to keep warm.
Saturday - 7th December
Eating out again - this time at a friend of the family. We had plenty to eat and we must have been enjoying ourselves as before we knew what was happening the time was heading towards midnight.
Sunday - 8th December
My Dad investigated my leaky bath. The problem seems to be the trap which is not exactly well sealed.
Monday - 9th December
Tuesday - 10th December
When I arrived home I discovered that my Dad had fixed my bath - now I an enjoy having a bath without water coming through the ceiling.
Wednesday - 11th December
Thursday - 12th December
Home group, this time at some else's house so no vacuuming for me.
Friday - 13th December
I worked out at the gym and felt I was making progress. The cold I had for the last three weeks has finally been banished!
Saturday - 14th December
The clipper fleet arrived at Cuba
There was a really expensive collision the between the tricolor, which was carrying luxury cars

and kariba a container ship

The container ship was able to limp back to port, but tricolor sank in the shallow water
Office Christmas meal at Anfield where a well known football team is based.
Sunday - 15th December
It was tough getting up for church in the morning, I only returned home about 2am in the morning... not enough sleep.
While at church I had some unexpected news... two people I know are in hospital.
Monday - 16th December
I had the day off work to do some Christmas shopping and I also put up some plaster board in the loft.
I received a Christmas card from a friend in Wales... panic stations I haven't sent them one yet and I'm not sure if the post will get their in time.
Unbelievably another ship ran aground on the wreck of the tricolor. Fortunately tugs were able to pull Nicola off!

Hopefully they can refloat tricolor before there are any more collisions.
Tuesday - 17th December
Back in work... more Christmas shopping.
Wednesday - 18th December
All this Christmas shopping must be wearing me out because this evening I didn't seem to have any energy at the gym. I felt like pop-eye without any spinach.
Thursday - 19th December
Rehersal for the Christmas presentation - "No Room For Baby". The lights we hired have arrived so I started to plan for lighting for each scene in the play.
Friday - 20th December
My last day in work before Christmas (hurrah).
The show must go on - one of the bulbs in our lighting system stopped working. We carried on without one of the blue lights. Hopefully tomorrow we can get a replacement.
Saturday - 21st December
Final rehersal for the Christmas presentation. We discovered that the bulb hadn't gone, there was a bad connection in the lighting unit, but nobody had a soldering iron handy.
Sunday - 22nd December
No Room for a Baby - Christmas presentation. The day finally arrived, and so did the newly soldered lighting unit, what more could I want? My parents and one of my aunts arrived to see the show. I had a small part in one of the scenes and I remembered my lines which was quite a relief. For the rest of the scenes I was controlling the stage lights and this time I didn't have technical hitches. My parents told me that they enjoyed the show.
Monday - 23rd December
Despite all my careful planning I found myself at the shops again. I arrived early to get a parking space.
I went to the church building and moved most of the stage equipment such as microphones back into its proper place ready for the Christmas day service.
Tuesday - 24th December
Miracle at Christmas! A plane crashed in Aberdeen hitting two cars and everyone walked away.
I went to stay at my parents for a few days over Christmas.
Wednesday - 25th December - CHRISTMAS DAY
We enjoyed Christmas at my parents and in the evening we went to an aunts for tea.
Thursday - 26th December - BOXING DAY
More eating and drinking at my parents.
Friday - 27th December
I returned to my home.
Saturday - 28th December
I have added some insulation to the roof of my loft today and yesterday. Today I thought I was going to finish. After making several measurements, I crawled into the loft space above my bathroom and squeezed into the corner. I had the last piece made to measure and when I went to put it in place I discovered an extra joist which I hadn't seen as it was in a dark corner. I realised that my carefully crafted piece of polystyrene consequently wouldn't fit. Aggggh!
I decided it was time to have a break from doing DIY and visited someone from church.
Sunday - 29th December
FINISHED - I inserted the final piece of polystyrene into my loft! Now I just have finish insulating the loft hatch.
Monday - 30th December
It was very quiet on the roads driving into work.
Tuesday - 31st December
In the evening (after work) I went to my parents to celebrate the New Year.
