Journal - February 2003
Saturday - 1st Feb
Space shuttle Columbia was destroyed after re-entering the earth's atmosphere :-(
Sunday - 2nd Feb
I went to my parents house for tea. I kept thinking about the astronauts who will never come home.
Monday - 3rd Feb
I had trouble starting my car to go to work. In the evening I put my car on the battery charger.
Tuesday - 4th Feb
I discovered why my kitchen cupboards are so cold... I could see day light through the hole in the wall where the waste pipe goes from the sink. I put some plaster in the hole.
Wednesday - 5th Feb
On the way to work I noticed that my car only just started and it seemed quite dark. When I parked I inspected my cars lights and noted that the LHS headlight wasn't working.
On the way home I purchased a new battery and a new halogen bulb for my headlight. I fitted them in the dark which was a little tricky. On the way to musicians I noticed that the alignment of LHS headlight wasn't quite right.
Thursday - 6th Feb
I got up extra early so that I could adjust the alignment of the LHS headlight before going to work. I sorted out the headlight and was in Liverpool before 8am.
After an evening session at the gym I decided that an early night was in order.
Friday - 7th Feb
Someone from work had quite a surprise when the courier arrived yesterday. The metal detector they had ordered on the internet turned out to be an army surplus mine detector!
At the gym I decided to do some extra leg work.
Saturday - 8th Feb
I purchased some sand and some metal fittings in preparation for a couple of small jobs. Later in the day I cemented up the wall where the kitchen sink drain goes through the wall. Now my kitchen shouldn't be so draughty! I also put up a clothes rail in an alcolve.
Sunday - 9th Feb
I put up some more plaster board in my loft. My parents popped round for a visit after they had been on a walk.
Monday - 10th Feb
Lots of people seemed to be developing coughs and colds at work. I had a head ache so I didn't hang around. I went to the gym after work but I took things easy as I was feeling a certain lack of energy.
Tuesday - 11th Feb
I felt much better (hurrah) today.
Wednesday - 12th Feb
I must have recovered as I managed to go to the gym and after tea I managed to be at a prayer meeting after work.
I had a bit of bother cooking my tea. There I was carefully grilling some sausages and handle came off the grill pan. Sausages went flying in all directions!
Thursday - 13th Feb
Friday - 14th Feb
Brave Merchant is chartered by the Royal Navy to transport supplies and tanks to the Gulf.

After work it seemed quite tough doing my program at the gym. Tomorrow I will have to relax
Saturday - 15th Feb
When I looked out the window everything was covered in frost. I decided to go back to bed! By the time I went for my shopping it was much warmer, on the way home I even openned the sunroof (OK I was wearing a coat).
Sunday - 16th Feb
In the afternoon I put up some more plaster board. Part of the job involved cutting some wood so instead of using a hand saw I used a present I received last Christmas - a circular saw.
Monday - 17th Feb
This was a busy day, after work I had a workout at the gym. Instead of going home and relaxing I went to my parents for tea. After eating tea we drove to the local cinema to watch Lord of the Rings, part II : The Two Towers.
Tuesday - 18th Feb
I felt strangely tired, possibly something to do with yesterday? Apparently my car felt the same way... the passenger window wouldn't go all the way up making it cold and draughty driving to work.
Wednesday - 19th Feb
I met my Dad at lunchtime and we ate lunch at a pub near the Liverpool waterfront.
In the evening the church musicians team met at the house of one of the church pastors. We had an informal evening where we listened to some music that we are planning to learn for future meetings.
Thursday - 20th Feb
At lunchtime I gave blood. In the evening I did the PA for a meeting at church.
Friday - 21st Feb
I didn't feel like going to the gym on the way home so I took the scenic route home.
In the evening I did some investigating on the internet and found out some interesting details about Hoverspeed Great Britain
Saturday - 22nd Feb
I had planned a relaxing day but somehow I found myself at the local DIY store purchasing more plaster board.
In the evening I went out for a meal to celebrate my mothers birthday. We had a meal at an Italian restaurant.
Sunday - 23rd Feb
Only two weeks to the Australian Grand Prix. Hopefully nobody has the problem I had returning home from church... my cars hydrolic clutch jambed.
Monday - 24th Feb
I went to work via public transport. Someone from work offered me a lift home. Later in the day they discovered they were going on-site to Austria so they wouldn't be able to give me a lift home after all. I returned home on a bus.
Tuesday - 25th Feb
I drove my car to work without incident. In the evening I went to my parents for tea and later we went to the Advanced motorists meeting.
Wednesday - 26th Feb
I managed a quick work out at the gym followed by a musicians rehersal.
Thursday - 27th Feb
We had the church home group meeting at my house. I finished vacuuming before anyone arrived.
Friday - 28th Feb
I had accumulated enough flexi-time at work to take a day off (hurrah). I decided to go shopping for some clothes.
When I drove to the gym in the evening my cars clutch needed encouraging for it to work.
