Journal - July 2003
Thursday - 31st July
Some of the people from church meet mid week. This time we met at my house and I almost ran out of chairs!
Wednesday - 30th July
Walking from work to my car I got soaked. My ankle is much better, but as I'm not prepared to risk running I got really wet.
Tuesday - 29th July
I went to my parents for tea and later in the evening I went to the Advanced Motorists meeting. Ironically on the way there someone followed me driving in a most usual way... they kept driving on the wrong side of the road!
Monday - 28th July
After work I went to gym. On the way home I stopped to do some shopping as the cupboards at home had been getting quite bare.
Sunday - 27th July
I used the new 24 channel mixing desk for the church Sunday meeting.
When I arrived home I noticed the grass in my garden was in urgent need of cutting. I got out the lawn mower and sorted the grass out.
Saturday - 26th July
I went to New Brighton to see rally cars race around the promenade. I took lots of pictures this year. Here are some pictures I took last year.
Friday - 25th July
I was off work for a flexi day (hurrah). I finally got round to sorting out the cracks in my dining room ceiling. I filled the cracks up with plaster and painted the ceiling. Climbing the step ladder was quite tough on my ankle but I survived.
Later in the day I even went to the gym, but obviously I didn't do any leg exercises.
Thursday - 24th July
I decided not to wear the supportive bandage on my ankle today.
Wednesday - 23rd July
My ankle was feeling quite a bit better today.
Tuesday - 22nd July
My photographs of Oulton Park have been developed. The cars looked so small - I will have to invest in a better camera.
Monday - 21st July
I drove to work and my ankle reminded me it was still sore. The walk from the car park to where I work also seemed longer than usual.
In the evening I though I would just drop off a couple of videos then go home and have an early night. I dropped off a video David had lent me and my parents invited me for tea. I then dropped off another video at a friends house. After quick drink of coffee I felt quite relaxed. They suggested we go to the church building and finish off setting up our new 24 channel mixing desk. I didn't get an early night.
Sunday - 20th July
My ankle was still pretty swollen so I missed church. Instead I stayed home and watch the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. It was a classic race with lots of overtaking.
Saturday - 19th July
I went on a walk with some friends from church. I managed to sprain my ankle made walking a little uncomfortable.
Later in the day I went with one of my brothers to the local hospital to make sure I hadn't broken anything. After the doctor has examined my ankle and my ankle had been X-rayed they determined it was just a sprain.
Friday - 18th July
It was much cooler at the gym. I like the hot weather when I am sitting in the garden relaxing.
Thursday - 17th July
Still fairly hot. There was a thunderstorm in the afternoon and I got rather wet running to where I park my car.
I made up for yesterdays absence from the gym by having a workout on the way home from work.
Wednesday - 16th July
I reduced the amount I pay each month in a standing order to drive through the road tunnels. I had accumulated too much money in my account.
It was so hot I didn't go to the gym. Instead I sat outside and enjoyed an ice cream. I retreated inside the house just before the thunderstorm arrived.
Tuesday - 15th July
I came home and relaxed in a chair in my garden.
The last day of the church outreach. Were celebrated by having an evening meal at the church building.
Monday - 14th July
Summer is definately here. It was quite tough going at the gym, though I enjoyed sitting in my garden afterwards.
Sunday - 13th July
I went to Oulton Park and watched the cars zooming around the track. The weather was amazing it was so sunny. I came home with a big smile and a pinkish nose.
Oulton Park 2002
A diabetic woman was airlifted from Hibre Island by an RAF helicopter and taken to hospital.
Saturday - 12th July
After doing my shopping I spent the afternoon sitting in my garden enjoying the sun.
In the evening I went to church to support the outreach we are having to the neighbourhood.
Friday - 11th July
On my way to the gym after work I noticed I was following a boat. Yes you read that right, there was a rather large boat on a very wide truck. I kept my distance as I didn't want a disagreement between the lorry and my car.
Thursday - 10th July
Wednesday - 9th July
Tuesday - 8th July
Monday - 7th July
Sunday - 6th July
I finally fitted a new rocker cover gasket to my car to stop oil leaking out of the engine.
Finished cutting my hedge. I now have a BIG mound of cuttings. I will probably leave it a few weeks to dry out then have a bonfire.
Later in the evening I watched the French Grand Prix which I had taped earlier in the day.
Saturday - 5th July
My brother David came round. I showed him my improved patio. He lent me one of his maps - next Sunday I am driving to Oulton Park to watch several races. I plan to meet my brother there.
Friday - 4th July
After I workout at the gym I relaxed at home in the bath.
Thursday - 3rd July
Wednesday - 2nd July
After work I had a fairly long workout at the gym. Later in the evening I gave out the advanced motorist magazines.
My photographs of the mersey river festival arrived. I discovered that the software I use to convert images from bitmap format to jpeg was another casualty of my hard disk failure.
Tuesday - 1st July
In the evening I convinced my scanner to start working again. I scanned in some pictures from the battle of the atlantic.
