Tuesday 30th
At lunch time I went to Canning Dock and saw the clippers leaving for their home port Southampton. The Mayor of Liverpool came to send them off and the historic tug "Brocklebank" sounded its horn as each of them left. It is amazing how loud the horn of a tug is.

The clippers were led to the finish line by HMS Edinburgh a type 42 destroyer. The Liverpool clipper won the stage coming third overall. A planing towing the banner welcomed the clippers back to the Mersey.

I was off work for the day, so I got a few things done around the house. I didn't do anything outside as it was raining!
In the evening we had a special evening for the teenagers at the church building. There were lots short films, competitions, drama sketches and of course a band producing loud music. I helped with the lights and the PA.
It looks like hurricane Isabel which has been troubling the east coast of the United States will travel inland missing Boston where my brother and his wife live.
