Journal - November 2003
Sunday 30th
I delivered the monthly advanced motorist magazine to the Greasby area. It doesn't seem long since my last delivery.
I installed the patch to the computer game homeworld which changes all the ships to Babylon 5 space craft.
Saturday 29th
My brother David had lent me Babylon 5 series 3 on DVD so I watched the remaining episodes.
In the evening I went out for a meal at a relations house. On the way there I was overtaken by four police cars, before you ask I wasn't speeding.
Friday 28th
As I had the day off work I drove to outlet village to do some clothes shopping. I carefully noted where I had left my car as I didn't want to spend the rest of the day wandering around looking for my car.
Thursday 27th
One of the local shipyards won the contract to build a specialised barge to carry the wings for Airbus planes.
Wednesday 26th
In the evening it was the penultimate musicians meeting for the year, after next week the scouts will be using the hall to sort out the post.
Tuesday 25th
Monday 24th
Sunday 23rd
Saturday 22nd
My parents returned home from their trip to Spain.
Friday 21st
Thursday 20th
Terrorists let off more bombs in Turkey killing several people.
Wednesday 19th
The musicians had a social evening, the pianist arrived slightly late but they did bring a bag of donuts!
Tuesday 18th
We had a church members meeting. The PA equipment was working fine so I was quite relieved.
Monday 17th
After going to the gym I helped get the new amplifier plugged into the church PA system. By end of the evening we had almost everything working. It was after 9.30pm when I arrived home and I was looking forward to my evening meal!
Sunday 16th
Most of the musicians were away on a training weekend which was fortunate as we had an amplifier missing.
Saturday 15th
There was a nasty accident on the Queen Mary which is currently under construction in a dry dock in St Nazaire. A gangway collapsed killing several people. Not the sort of news I like to hear especially when my parents are driving south to go on a mini-cruise to Spain.
Friday 14th
At the gym I had another go at using the leg press with one leg at a time. It takes a lot more coordination than using both legs at the same time.
Thursday 13th
At homegroup I was surprised to find out that the senior pastor at church will be leaving.
Wednesday 12th
No musicians this week, which was fortunate due to the current situation with our PA equipment.
Tuesday 11th
Monday 10th
I watched the rest of the rally of wales. At the end of the race there were quite a few cars missing. One of the drivers had to retire when the police pulled him over. Did he have a broken indicator, or maybe a cracked windscreen? No it was rather more serious, he had hit something solid and broken his passenger side front suspension and was slowly driving along with his wheel jambed in wheel arch. Well the police to have a responsiblity to make sure that dangerous cars are not on the road. The chap leading the rally was told to slow down as they were concerned his car wouldn't make it to the end of the rally. One of the Suberus took the opportunity to overtake and their driver won not only the rally but the championship
Sunday 9th
The rally of wales had quite a bit of drama, not all of it during the race. Before the rally started, one of the drivers narrowly missed having a crash on the motorway when he fainted while driving!
Saturday 8th
In the morning we started putting the sound equipment back to normal and in the PA room we there was a suspicious burning smell and one of the amplifiers died taking out a four of the stage foldback speakers... aggh! It took rather longer than we had planned to get a basic system working again.
To celebrate my birthday we went out for a meal at a local restaurant.
Friday 7th
I helped with the sound at church as we had a live band playing for the teenagers.
Thursday 6th
Wednesday 5th
Bonfire night. For the last time we celebrated with fireworks at my aunts house.
Tuesday 4th
Monday 3rd
It seemed almost relaxing to go being back in work... no rubble to take to the tip.
Sunday 2nd
What is big, fast and a little scary?

Well the drug smugglers threw their cargo of cocaine overboard and escaped to Columbia when HMS Manchester a type 42 destroyer pursued them.
Saturday 1st November
I took two more car loads of rubble to the tip. It took longer than I expected as there are road works on the most direct route to the tip, the water company is in the process of renewing most of the water mains in the area.
