Journal - March 2004
Wednesday 31st
Musicians. I was pleased to note that the clock in church had been correctly adjusted to British Summer time, so I didn't have to stand on a chair to adjust the time. I much prefer the lighter nights, I seem to have so much more energy.
Tuesday 30th
Monday 29th
Sunday 28th
I did some digging in the garden. The soil is almost ready for planting now.
Saturday 27th
I went on a walk with some friends from church.

I started pulling dandylions from the back garden lawn. I cut the grass in the front garden for the first time in the year. I couldn't cut the grass in the back garden as the ground is still too wet.
Friday 26th
Thursday 25th
Wednesday 24th
Tuesday 23rd
When I woke up in the morning, I didn't feel full of energy, I must have done too much at the gym yesterday. I was later than usual arriving at work as I had to wrap birthday presents for my Dad and one of my brothers.
In the evening I went to my parents house to celebrate the birthday of my Dad and one of my brothers.
Monday 22nd
Sunday 21st
I got up early to watch the grand prix in Malaysia.
My parents visited me late in the afternoon. I provided them with a warm drink each as they had spent the afternoon walking in a local park and it had hailstoned on them.
Saturday 20th
I went into work to do some overtime. When I went outside at lunchtime it was so windy, not the sort of day I would want to sail across the Irish Sea (note that the Lady of Mann in the background is preparing to sail!)
Friday 19th
It was seriously windy when I went for my lunchtime walk.
Thursday 18th
Burglars were caught out by the tide when they attempted steal property from Hibre Island and later arrested.
In rough weather a women fell off a Mersey Ferry. A lifeboat was despatched and she was rescued.
Wednesday 17th
Musicians, when I reversed out of a parking space my car got stuck in reverse gear (again). The annoying things is I still don't know what is wrong and each time I take my car to the garage it works fine.
Tuesday 16th
I went shopping for a birthday present for one of my brothers. I won't say what I got him in case he reads this!
Monday 15th
I heard that Spain is thinking of pulling out of Iraq. I am not sure that this is a good idea, as it sends the wrong signal to terrorists.
Sunday 14th
Spain has a new government after last weeks terrorist attacks and an election.
I watched most of the mexican rally. One of the Peugeots had a bit of bother when a wheel came off, my parents had something similar happen to them last year.
Saturday 13th
The frogs seem to have finished hibernating as I saw several of them either in the pond or the area around it.
Friday 12th
Thursday 11th
Terrorists attacked the Spanish capital Madrid blowing up several commuter trains at rush hour.
Wednesday 10th
In the evening I finally discovered why my computers USB ports were not working... I inspected my computers BIOS settings and found the USB controller was switched off! Now that is sorted I can download the photographs from my camera... see last Saturday.
Tuesday 9th
It was nice to wake up the morning to a warm house!
Monday 8th
I took the afternoon off work to get my combination boiler sorted out. The heating engineer arrived in the early evening and removed some grit from the washer in the pressure valve and then the boiler was working again... hurrah.
Sunday 7th
I took some more soil to the tip.
The Russian scientists were rescued from their damaged base near the north pole.
Saturday 6th
The fault with the central heating has got worse so I arranged for a heating engineer to come on Monday.
In the afternoon I decided to purchase a digital camera as the prices are getting more reasonable.
In the evening I had tea at my parents.
Friday 5th
I did a major workout at the gym. I don't remember spending so long doing leg and shoulder exercises before.
Thursday 4th
Wednesday 3rd
At musicians rehersal we re-arranged some of the microphones for the backing singers.
Tuesday 2nd
I was back at work, once I warmed my car up to melt the ice on the windows and fought my way through the traffic which was challenging because the nearest motorway junction was closed.
In the evening I learnt about the latest technical innovation. What could you expect from the country that had the first passenger railway, the first iron clad battleship, the first aircraft carrier, the first jet passenger plane...? Could it be another new technology like radar or the LCD screen? Well it is the latest must have accessory for the Kalashnikov assault rifle - simply remove the real magazine and replace it with a MP3 music player!
Monday 1st
I took the day off work to get some job done around the house. After three trips to the tip I had decide it was time to have lunch!
I saw some frogs swimming around in the pond, which must be chilly as there is still ice in the water.
On a sader note there are still people missing from the Philippine ferry which caught fire last week.
