Journal - April 2004
Friday 30th
In the evening I went to the wedding rehersal at the church building. When we were practising the music, the D key on the church keyboard stopped working. Fortunately we were able to arrange to borrow a replacement.
Thursday 29th
My parents phoned to say they have arrived safely in Spain, but their email doesn't seem to be working.
The apple tree in the garden is covered with flowers, so hopefully I will get a good crop of cooking apples this year.
Wednesday 28th
I gave in and wore my coat when I went outside at lunch time. I went to the cash point to get some money, and I started to remember all kinds of numbers, but I wanted to remember my cash point number! Fortunately I did remember the number.
Tuesday 27th
I went outside at lunchtime without a coat but it was a bit chilly.
Monday 26th
Since the weather is getting warmer at lunchtime I went for my usual walk, but without a coat.
Sunday 25th
I made sure that the video was set for the Monza grand prix. Jenson Button was starting from pole with Michael Schumacher starting from 2nd place.
In the afternoon I did some more tidying up around the garden. I moved some paving stones out of the way.
In the evening I watched the grand prix. Jenson led until his first pit stop when Michael put in several really fast laps. When Michael stopped for fuel he managed to come out ahead of Jenson and he stayed ahead to win the race.
Saturday 24th
I spent much of the day tidying things in the garden. It seems that I am not the only one who likes being in the garden.
Friday 23rd
The warm weather seems to have returned.
Thursday 22nd
Wednesday 21st
I was a bit short on time so I went straight from the gym to the church meeting. I did find time to eat a couple of sandwiches before the meeting.
When I arrived home the house alarm was going. I nothing seemed to be missing and all the doors and windows were still locked. I did find a large moth on one of the motion detectors.
Tuesday 20th
Monday 19th
Sunday 18th
My parents visited me in the afternoon. We had a look in the garden and spotted a few tiny blades of grass appearing.
I pulled out more dandylions from the lawn. I managed to cut the grass in the front garden, but I had to leave the back garden as the ground was too wet.
Saturday 17th
I purchased some cement and sand as I plan to build a wall in the garden to hold a flower bed in position.
Friday 16th
Despite suffering from a cold I still managed a session at the gym. By the end of the session I had no energy left. I picked up a take-away meal on the way - I had chicken cashew nuts with boiled rice.
Thursday 15th
Someone from work lent me a Babylon5 DVD.
Wednesday 14th
Musicians was cancelled as several people were away.
Tuesday 13th
Back in work.
Monday 12th
I got up early, and took three more car loads of gravel + soil to the tip. The grass I planted on Tuesday still doesn't seem to be growing yet.
Sunday 11th
EASTER SUNDAY. The church building was packed on Sunday morning... we needed to get extra chairs from a store room.
I took two car loads of soil + gravel to the local tip.
In the evening I went to a relations house for a meal.
Saturday 10th
Friday 9th
GOOD FRIDAY. The day that people celebrate that Jesus died for our sins
A couple of my friends came round for the evening.
Thursday 8th
I took a flexi day off work. I took a picture of the bluebells in my front garden.
Wednesday 7th
Musicians. We had quite a lot to sort out because we are having meetings on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Tuesday 6th
I the way home I decided it was time to refuel my car. I had quite a surprise when I saw that the petrol station was closed and builders were working there. Fortunately there is another petrol station nearby.
I planted some grass seed in the garden. Hopefully the weather will be largely sunny with a few rain showers so I don't have to water the grass.
Monday 5th
Sunday 4th
I delivered the advanced motorist magazines near to where I live.
The F1 teams raced at a new circuit, for the first time there was a formula 1 race in Bahrain. The scarlet Ferraris were dominant again - for the third race Michael Schumacher has finished on the on the top step of the podium. Neither of the Mclarens finished and one of the Minardis broke down. All the other 17 cars were still running at the end of the race. Ralf Schumacher was penalised by the race stewards for attempting to force Takuma Sato's BAR off the track, even though Sato had the racing line. With Satos BAR in fifth place and Jenson buttons BAR in 3rd place this consolidated the BAR team as Ferrari's nearest challenger.
Saturday 3rd
The plants and bushes in the garden seem to grow madly at this time of year.

I helped some friends move to a new house.
Friday 2nd
Thursday 1st
April Fools day - in the UK we often play tricks on people. In Liverpool there is a yellow large statue known as the "banana lamb". Someone made a miniture version of the statue and it looked like the big statue had a baby!
