Monday 31st
I distributed the advanced motorist magazines.
My brother David and I went to the River Mersey to see the QE2 visiting. I only took a few pictures as the battery in my camera ran out... I will have to make sure it is fully charged next time I use my camera.

Sunday 30th
The European Grand Prix had quite a few incidents. Only 15 of the 20 cars completed the race. On the first corner the two Williams cars collided causing Ralf Schumacher to retire his Williams and Da Matta's Toyota was also hit by Ralfs car. Both Mclarens retired trailing a cloud of steam / smoke. Sato also retired. Last year Kimmi Raikkonen was challanging Michael Schumacher in the drivers championship, this year Nick Heidfelt has more points and he drives a Jordan!
I completed the 2nd course of bricks in the wall in the garden.

Saturday 29th
F1 Qualifying, Michael Schumacher is on pole with Takoma Sato on the first row the grid for tomorrow's grand prix.
I had tea at one of my relatives. While I was there my parents phoned to tell us they are back in the north of Spain and they will be returning by ferry shortly.

Friday 28th
Another weekend is here and this one is longer than usual as Monday is a bank holiday. People started catching the ferry to the Isle of Man for the TT races.

Thursday 27th
I was invited round for an evening meal by someone from church.

Wednesday 26th
Musicians, we had an extra musician tonight who was playing the flute. I attached one of the clip-on microphones to the flute so everyone could hear the flute.

Sunday 23rd
In the Monaco Grand Prix there was quite a bit of drama in the tunnel. Alonso crashed when attempting to pass Ralf Schumacher. Later on Michael Schumacher was testing his brakes while behind the safety car in the tunnel and he locked a wheel and collided with Montoya and subsequently the wall. Nobody was injured but Michael's car was damaged and he retired.
I completed the first course of bricks in the wall in the garden.

Saturday 22nd
I had breakfast at the church building.
In the afternoon I did some work on the wall in the garden.
The new lifeboat at West Kirby was called into action to rescue a man from Middle Eye, an island near Hibre Island. The man was rescued and taken to hospital. The lifeboat then hurried back for its naming ceremony, though it was a few minutes late.

Friday 21st
After working out at the gym I setup the PA at church for the women's meeting. I setup 3 microphones at the approximate volume and went home for my tea. This weekend I want to complete the first row of bricks in the wall in the garden. Once I have the first row of bricks in place hopefully I should speed up on my brick laying.
In one of the local papers I heard something sad, another local shipyard has been mothballed.

Thursday 20th
I had a busy evening. On the way home from work I visited someone in hospital. I then had to rush home for my evening meal as some friends were coming round.

Wednesday 19th
At musicians it was a little different. The usual pianist wasn't wasn't at the rehersal, so the bass player took over the keyboard.

Tuesday 18th
After work I mixed some more cement and laid a few more bricks. I feel like I am building the great wall of China, not a wall around a flowerbed.

Monday 17th
I visited someone from work who is currently in hospital after they had a mild heart attack.

Sunday 16th
I laid a few more bricks after cutting the grass on the front and back lawns.
My next door neighbour had quite a surprise when he was cutting the hedge, he discovered a black bird's nest. Fortunately he didn't disturb the nest.

Saturday 15th
I started building a wall in my garden to hold a flowerbed in place.

Friday 14th
I had a day off work to help someone I know move house. When I arrived they had boxed everything and once the van arrived we started moving things. After three van loads we had moved almost everything to their new abode.

Saturday 8th
When I visited the local supermarket I had quite a surprise, all the aisles have been re-arranged as part of the refit.
Despite expectations Jenson Button didn't get pole for tomorrows Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. Michael Schumacher got pole, Montoya got 2nd grid position and Takuma Sato (Jenson's team mate) got 3rd position on the grid. The F1 teams have agreed to several measures to cut the cost of F1 racing. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before any measures are introduced.
In the afternoon my brother David came round to see my latest project in the garden. After he had gone between rain showers I went outside and leveled the remains of the trench ready for cement.

Friday 7th
I started putting cement in the trench as a foundation for the flower bed retaining wall.

Thursday 6th
After yesterdays experience I got out in the garden earlier, before 9am I have moved 2 wheel barrows of soil... then it started raining. By the end of the day I laid 4 paving stones and I had lost count of how much soil I had moved, but it was probably 7 or 8 wheel barrows.

Wednesday 5th
It was sunny when I got up, but by the time I finished breakfast it was raining and it didn't stop to mid afternoon. I continued digging and moved another 3 wheel barrows of soil. At musicians I found my missing USB cable in the PA room.
Despite being called a common sparrow these birds are becoming surprisingly rare. I didn't have to travel far to get this picture, the sparrow landed on the fence and waited paitently for me to get my camera!

Tuesday 4th
In the morning there were frequent showers, so I didn't do any digging until the afternoon. On the way to the gym I purchased a memory card reader as I seem to have lost the cable for my camera. I also bought another memory card for my camera, so I now have 3 cards, 16MB which came with the camera, a 64MB card which I bought when I got the camera and 256MB which I bought today.

Monday 3rd
I transplanted a rose bush, laid a paving stone and continued digging the trench.

Sunday 2nd
I started on my next gardening project, to build a retaining wall around a raised flower bed. In the afternoon I started straightening the flowerbed and digging a shallow trench.

Saturday 1st May
I went to a wedding. The weather was really bright and sunny which is ideal for a wedding.
