Friday 31st
I met my parents, my brother John and his wife Alicia for lunch in the maritime museum. After lunch I had to rush back to work

After work I managed to miss the last ferry, so I had to take the train under the Mersey (well I didn't fancy swimming across the River Mersey) and then walk to where I left my car.
Later in the evening I drove to my parents to celebrate the New Year.

Thursday 30th
I was back in work. The office was really quiet. Someone from work travelled to Thailand early in December. I hope they weren't involved in the Asia tsunami disaster which has killed more than 125,000 people.

Wednesday 29th

Tuesday 28th

Monday 27th
We inspected my car and my Dad discovered two of the glow plugs were not working... no wonder my car doesn't like cold starts.
My brother John and Alicia flew to London for a sight-seeing visit.
I returned home (once I convinced my car to start) and did some tidying up - I know it isn't Spring yet but I decided to start early.

Sunday 26th - Boxing Day
In the afternoon we went for a short walk in Eastham woods. Most of the snow had gone, but it was still slippery in places.

Saturday 25th - Christmas Day
It was strange waking up at my parents house.
I thought my car wasn't going to start when I drove to church... my car doesn't like the cold.
In the evening we had a meal at a relations house. While we were there it snowed but my Mum drove us safely home.

Friday 24th
I know Christmas happens at the same time each year and yet again I found myself wrapping the presents on Christmas eve. I drove to my parents house late in the evening as I am staying there for the next few days.

Thursday 23rd
My new shower door arrived, now all I have to do is fit it.
Alicia's suitcase arrived at my parents house.
In the afternoon we went for a walk in Royden Park, we even found the spot by the pond where years ago my brother fell into icy water. Afterwards we had a Chinese take-away at my house. Later in the evening my brothers suitcase arrived at my parents house (at last).

Wednesdays 22nd
My brother and his wife arrived but their suitcases didn't (aagh!). After a long flight they were tired and having their suitcases going missing didn't help. We went out for a pub lunch to try and take their minds off the situation.

Tuesday 21st
My last day at work before Christmas. My brother John and his wife Alicia are flying from Boston and are arriving at Manchester tomorrow.

Monday 20th
My back was much better and I even managed a session at the gym.

Sunday 19th
I did the sound for the Church Christmas production. The stand-in took on the role of Gabriel because the original person playing the Angel Gabriel was delayed by a heavy snow fall in Derbyshire.

Saturday 18th
Where is Gabriel? At the rehersal we had to use a stand-in because Gabriel hadn't arrived.

Friday 17th
It was choppy on the ferry in the evening and the captain had difficulty berthing at Seacombe. Later in the evening the ferry stopped running because it was too rough.
I overdid things at the gym and managed to pull a muscle in my back while doing the leg press. Owch... not recomended!

Thursday 16th
When I returned from Liverpool in the evening, it was rather choppy on the ferry across the river.

Tuesday 14th

Monday 13th

Sunday 12th
We had our Sunday meeting in the main hall. There was still some building materials around but we could use most of the hall.
After the meeting we had another rehersal... Christmas is almost here.

After the rehersal several of us went out for a Chinese meal.

Saturday 11th
I went to the Christmas presentation rehersal at the church building in the afternoon. Afterwards we set up the PA equipment in the main hall as the roof is now waterproof again. When everything was in place I looked at my watch and it was 7pm, no wonder I felt hungry!

Friday 10th
It was foggy when I got on the ferry across the River Mersey. I was glad that modern ships have radar to guide them, especially when the much larger Isle of Man car ferry went past!

Thursday 9th
At lunchtime I purchased some more Christmas presents.

Wednesday 8th
No musicians this week as the scout post are using the building.

Tuesday 7th

Monday 6th
I went to the church gym as usual after work, nobody is working on that part of the roof.

Sunday 5th
Due to the the roof repairs we held our church meeting in the reception / coffee bar area.

Saturday 4th
I went to a surprise party for one of my cousins. She did look suitably surprised when she arrived. Fortunately she quickly recovered and enjoyed the evening.
