Journal - January 2005
Monday 31st
Holiday! I am off work this week to relax and get a few things done around the house. I put a layer of paint on the skirting board in the bathroom.
My brother John and his wife Alicia are moving from rented accomodation to their own home.
Sunday 30th
My parents visited me in the afternoon. While they were here, my Dad put some transfers on the shower door... so I won't walk into it.
Saturday 29th
I delivered the advanced motorist magazines. In the evening I went out for tea. I parked on a slopped drive and my cars' handbrake didn't want to hold the car in place.

Wednesday 19th
On the ferry to work I noticed that part of the Liverpool landing stage was looking distinctly ill... it had partially sunk!
Tuesday 18th
I woke up in the middle of the night. Everything sounded strangely quiet and muffled. I looked outside and it was snowing. Imagine my disappointment when I my alarm went off and looked outside and most of the snow had melted.
The evening ferry crossing was very rough. I missed the early crossing (4.45) which was probably just as well as they snapped two of the ropes tying the ferry up.
Monday 17th
Sunday 16th
Saturday 15th
I ordered the new kitchen units. It is scary paying that much.
My Dad came round and fitted the new screen door for my bath, so I can have a shower without washing the floor.
We had the Christmas buffet and concert at the church building. Originally it had been scheduled for December, but it was postponed due to the roof repairs.
Friday 14th
Despite intermittant rain showers I replaced the two faulty glow plugs in my car. Now it should start better in the cold.
Thursday 13th
Wednesday 12th
While I was at work my Dad popped round to measure my kitchen. I am planning to fit new units in the nearish future.

I put my christmas decorations away in the loft... only eleven months to I put them out again.
Monday 10th
It was choppy on the ferry (again).

Back in work. I was training some people to use part of the system I worked which handles sea freight charges.
Despite being the first day back at work I managed a workout at the gym on the way home.
Late in evening I heard my brother and his wife were delayed because their flight was cancelled and they had to stay overnight in a hotel and catch the next flight in the morning.

We went on a lightning tour of the area. We even found time for a brief trip to Wales and we enjoyed the views from the slopes of Moel Famau.

At church we had a collection for the tasunami victims.
In the afternoon I went to my parents house because more relations where coming to see my youngest brother and to meet his wife. Some of the children had fun on the swing.

After the new year celebrations with lots of eating and drinking I didn't get up early in the morning. I returned home about lunch time. I started working on some paving but then it rained and I retreated indoors.
