Friday 30th
People keep talking about "recession" but the River Mersey is so busy these days. On the way home the mersey ferry - royal daffodil passed the superseacat II and Dublin Viking.
Despite being in the Atlantic ocean the clipper Durban also had some traffic problems.
Thursday 29th
Wednesday 28th
The clippers leave cascais in Portugal sailing towards Salvador in Brazil.
At musicians we didn't have a bass player as it was his wedding anniversary.
Tuesday 27th
In the evening I went to the advanced motorist meeting in Oxton. I was later than usual arriving and only just found a parking space.
Monday 26th
I had an uneventful day at work, no my sewing didn't give way. I checked on the internet and Glasgow had arrived in Cascais (Portugal).
Sunday 25th
The clippers started arriving at Cascais, Portugal completing the first race.
Montoya won the Brazilian grand prix, and his team mate Raikkonen came second. Alonso came 3rd, giving him enough points to be the drivers champion for the year.
When I was doing my ironing in the evening I made a discovery, the seam was coming apart in my trousers. After a quick bit of sewing all was well again.
Saturday 24th
At least one of the levees at New Orleans has been breached, flooding part of the city (again).
Friday 23rd
It was quite choppy on Snowdrop on the way home and the upper deck got wet. Fortunately not the side where I was sitting.
I heard that the clippers are nearing Portugal and are likely to reach Cascais early on Sunday.

Hurricane Rita, the 2nd category 5 hurricane this year is heading towards the US Gulf coast.

I started my new job.
Sunday 11th
In the afternoon I met one of my neighbours at Seacombe. We then caught the ferry to Liverpool and walked to the Albert Dock. We were shown around the Jersey Clipper by someone my next door neighbour knew who was part of the crew.

I went to Liverpool and met a friend for a lunchtime drink. I did some shopping and took some pictures of the clippers that had arrived.
Tuesday 6th
It was foggy when I woke in the morning. Instead of my planned visit to Liverpool my Dad came round and fitted the lights under my kitchen units.
Monday 5th
I took some more soil to the tip and laid some paving stones.
I heard that the clippers had started arriving in the Albert Dock ready to race around the world. Tomorrow I plan to do some shopping in Liverpool and take some photographs.
Sunday 4th
I trimmed back some rose bushes.
Saturday 3rd
I had breakfast at church. I ate so much I didn't bother with lunch. My Mum visited in the afternoon.
Friday 2nd
I went to the gym, I did less than usual as it was hot.
Thursday 1st
I did some work in the garden, mainly sorting out the pond which has become rather overgrown.
