Thursday 31st
I took my brother's dog Tasha for the walk in the reservation. I did something I have never done before... I used a plastic bag to pick up a number 2 that she deposited. It was warm and squishy uuughh! I mentioned the situation to my brother and he reminded me that I was fortunate that there wasn't a hole in the bag.
I managed to update this homepage from my brother's computer. Thanks for letting me use your computer John.

Wednesday 30th
I went whale watching on Aurora and saw several humpbacked whales. Apparently a basking shark went past the boat, but I didn't see it. Afterwards I went up the Prudential tower, one of the tallest buildings in Boston.
The liner Saga Rose arrived in the River Mersey.

Tuesday 29th
I travelled by public transport to see the oldest floating warship in active service, USS Constitution. No, I didn't put the wrong picture here it really is a 3 masted wooden frigate which is affectionately known as Old Ironsides. The rain didn't bother me as I was wearing a waterproof jacket and so I enjoyed being taken on a guided tour by a sailor.

Afterwards I found out who Cassin Young was.

Monday 28th
I went shopping. I purchased a new pair of trainers because the old ones were falling to pieces. I posted off some postcards. I wondered to myself "Will I get back b4 the postcards?"

Sunday 27th
On the way to Salem I purchased a new camera for a modest sum. It would have cost quite a bit if I had purchased all the extras the salesman tried to sell me. We had a picnic in Salem where the famous Witch trials occured. It was a bit chilly and damp but we ate the picnic and then went to a fast food establishment for a hot drink.

Saturday 26th
It was strange waking up in a dark room wondering "Why is it still dark and where is the light switch?". Apparently it takes more than one night to get used to eastern standard time.
In the morning we had a walk around the reservation. Part way round my camera died. We went to Boston but I didn't see any suitably priced replacement cameras.

Friday 25th
I woke up at 4.30am and had a shower. Why did I get up so early? I had to be up early because the the flight to America was later in the morning. The taxi arrived at 5.30 and I was ready to go. The Boeing 757 was about 30 minutes late taking off from Manchester and landed safely in Boston. I took the picture when the plane was high above Canada.

Thursday 24th
I tested out the rotary washing line. Hopefully it won't rain as I need to get things dry ready for tomorrow's flight.

I met some former colleagues for lunch in West Kirby.
I saw the cruise liner Athena leave Liverpool.

Tuesday 22nd

Monday 21sth
I went on a walk with some friends up Moel Famau. We sheltered from the wind at the summit by the Jubilee Tower and ate our lunch. Despite the weather prediction we stayed dry apart from a couple of spots of rain.

Sunday 13th

Saturday 12th
I had a barbecue at my house. My parents met my surprise guest. I cooked the sausages in the oven and just browned them on the barbecue so they were fine. I cooked the burgers on the barbecue and they were a little crunchy.

Friday 11th

Thursday 10th

Wednesday 9th
I met Dawn and went around the shops which resulted in me purchasing a new pair of jeans. Later we had lunch in Birkenhead Park. We saw that the lake in the South Park was no longer empty and that the new bridges across the lake had been finished.

Tuesday 8th
Went on a walk from Moreton / Leasowe to New Brighton with a couple of friends.

Monday 7th
Went on a short walk around West Kirby boating lake. We resolved yesterday's question.

Sunday 6th
After the church meal there was a buffet meal to celebrate Harry Orr's 80th birthday and Tony Holland's repositioning (retirement). Someone asked me an unexpected question...

Saturday 5th

Friday 4th
I went to the gym, not for a workout, but to purchase some of the equipment that Tony Holland was auctioning off.

Thursday 3rd
While reading a local newspaper I discovered why the lifeboat came alongside the
New York clipper.
I heard that the fast ferry Jonathan Swift was coming into a dry dock for a hull inspection. Find out why?.

Wednesday 2nd
I heard that Super Sea Cat II was running slower than usual as one of its gear boxes was under repair, forcing it to run on 3 rather than four engines. Also on the shipping subject I heard that stern roro convernsion of a ship formerly known as The Lady of Mann had been completed.
My last work out at the Christian Fitness gym.

In the evening I went out for a meal to celebrate an aunts birthday.
