Saturday 30th
Went to see the liner in the River Mersey. The liner must have been invisible because I couldn't see it. I can't have got the date wrong?
Went to see the rally cars... these were visible.
Had great fun at an 18th birthday party.

Friday 29th
Interview. Think I did OK!
Dawn went to the smoking nurse. Dawn hasn't smoked for 7.5 weeks. Well done darling.

Thursday 28th
Still preparing for interview.

Wednesday 27th

Tuesday 26th
Found a damaged abandoned car in the middle of Woodchurch Road late in the evening... hours later the police arrived. I was hoping for an early night.

Monday 25th
Studying for interview on Friday.

Sunday 24th

Saturday 23rd
Re-installed windows xp on a new disk in my computer. The boot sector in my original hard disk seems to have corrupted so I will probably have to format it. Did I back up all my data?
Went to David's house to help dig a pond. No I didn't throw my computer in the pond or Dawn for that matter!

Friday 22nd

Thursday 21st
Who stole the path? A group of us went walking in North Wales, we started by Moel Arthur and planned to follow Offa's Dyke Path. The path came to a dead end next to a fence so we decided it was time to eat lunch.

Wednesday 20th
Dawn and I were invited to my parents for tea.

Tuesday 19th
Checked to see how Tilly climbs the stairs. I took Dawn bowling to celebrate her birthday at New Brighton.

Monday 18th
Went to Liverpool. I had a look around the Albert Dock shops and walked to the Pierhead. I spotted the salvage boat Jacomina next to the sunken landing stage.

Sunday 17th
Late in the evening I found out where Tilly had got to. She wasn't in the dining room or the kitchen she had managed to get between the ceiling and the floorboards upstairs. I managed to eventually coax her out with some food at approximately 11.30pm (last night). I heard that a new ferry service has started from Liverpool.
I ate the piece of cake I got from party on Friday, the cake was yummy.

Saturday 16th
I saw the liner Deutschland anchored in the Mersey. I also saw Sea Express berthing in Liverpool.
When I arrived home I noticed that Tilly, my girlfriend's hamster was no longer in her cage. Where could she be?

Friday 15th
I drove to Colne and returned in time to go to a party to celebrate the 40th birthday of one of my cousins.

Thursday 14th

Wednesday 13th
I checked the oil level in my car... it was a bit low so I topped it up. I fitted a new clip to the car's radiator hose as the old one was leaking. I had trouble getting the clip on tight enough, but fortunately my Dad had a miniture hexagonal socket set.

Tuesday 12th
I drove to Colne to visit someone. Some of the hills on the M65 were pretty steep.

Monday 11th
I went to the job centre and then the dentist to get a filling sorted out. I had planned to go to the gym, but I was too tired. I managed to get to the prayer meeting.

Sunday 10th
I struggled to get up in the morning for church. Obviously I hadn't fully recovered from my flight.

Saturday 9th
Early in the morning I arrived at Manchester airport. I was a little tired as I hadn't slept on the flight. I was quite surprised when I saw who the driver of the taxi was.

Friday 8th
I woke up to a bright sunny morning. I copied all my pictures onto CDs using my brother's computer... thanks John. I squeezed all my items into my case. Later today I fly from Boston (USA) to Manchester (UK).

Thursday 7th
I walked the Freedom Trail in Boston. The walk starts in Boston Common near the New State house.

In the afternoon I had a swim in my brothers unheated open air pool. It took me a while to get in as it was a little chilly.
We went out for our evening meal.
I heard that some semtex had been lost at Boston airport. Ooops!

Wednesday 6th
I updated this homepage... only a few days of holiday left and then I return to the UK.

Tuesday 5th
Despite being out of the country I heard that Sea Express 1 is coming back into service while SuperSeaCat II has a gearbox replaced.
I visited Boston. While I was there I stood outside the Cheers Bar and visited the aquarium. The penguins were cute.

Monday 4th
We drove north through Massachusetts, through New Hampshire and to Ogunquit in Maine. I was reminded of the rocky coast of Brittany, France where I spent many of my school Summer holidays. On the way back we saw a small white plane landing at an airport in New Hampshire. In the evening news we heard that a yellow light aircraft had crashed into a hanger at the airport. Things could have been much worse if the plane had crashed onto the highway!

Sunday 3rd
We drove south to the Fall River where several historic warships are berthed. We paid the visitors fee and walked around the battleship USS Massachusetts the submarine USS Lionfish and the destroyer USS Joseph P Kennedy jr.

Saturday 2nd
We drove North to Gloucester where the film "The Perfect Storm" which described the true story of how a fishing boat was lost in a storm. I took a picture of the memorial. Next to the memorial was a very long list of all the local fishermen who have been lost at sea. I am not sure how dangerous fishing is in the USA with modern equipment, but earlier this year I heard that in the UK fishing is one of the most dangerous with more fatalities than the constuction industry. I wouldn't fancy being miles out at a sea in a tiny boat. The whale watching catamaran that I was on last week week rolled quite a bit and that was just the Atlantic swell.

In the evening we went to a Greek Festival with friends of my brother and his wife.
The liner Seven Seas Voyager anchored in the River Mersey.

Friday 1st
Dawn told me that the post card I sent her on Monday had arrived.
I did some vacuuming, in my brother's swimming pool. No I didn't wreck his vacuum cleaner, he has a special vacuum cleaner for his outdoor pool.
