Journal - November 2006
Thursday 30th
Wednesday 29th
At the gym I did both my Monday and Wednesday programs. That was hard work.
Tuesday 28th
Applied for a software developer job.
Monday 27th
Dawn had an appointment at a local hospital so I drove her there. Trying to find the correct car park in the rain wasn't much fun but on the second lap of the hospital we found it!
Sunday 26th
After church I took Dawn's mum back home to Colne. There was much less traffic than when I made the same two way journey on Friday.
Saturday 25th
Dawn's Mum came to my abode for tea. No the decorating wasn't quite finished but the room was mostly presentable.
Friday 24th
Signed on at the job centre.
Drove to Colne to pick up Dawn's Mum. We had tea at Dawn's apartment and later we went to New Brighton. No we didn't go for a paddle at the beach as it is November we went ten pin bowling.
Thursday 23rd
Wednesday 22nd
Continued plastering around the hole left by the vent. Will we complete the decorating b4 Dawn's Mum comes to see us?
Tuesday 21st
Plastering around the hole left by the vent.
Monday 20th
Started painting the walls in the dining room.
Sunday 19th
Dawn painted the skirting board while I removed a vent from the wall in the dining room.
Saturday 18th
I started a small DIY job... redecorating the dining room. I started by removing an air vent in the alcolve. I discovered the hole behind the air brick was bigger than the plastic cover that I had purchased. Rather than purchasing another larger vent cover I decided to make the hole a bit smaller. Dawn started painting the skirting board in the dining room.
Friday 17th
Went walking with Dave near Moel Arthur. This time we kept to Offa's Dyke path and did't follow the wrong footpath. It was seriously windy at first and we were battered by hailstones. We were releaved when the weather improved.
In the evening I went to the gym. I managed to do the usual exercises but I didn't seem to have much energy when it came to leg exercises.
Thursday 16th
I was just about to go out and the flat screen monitor arrived. That was quick!
Dawn had several fillings at the Dentist. She was sore afterwards.
Wednesday 15th
Ordered a new flat screen because the old monitor was getting fainter and fainter.
Mum and Dad treated me and Dawn to lunch to celebrate our engagement. While at the pub I spotted a familiar face... it was my postman.
Tuesday 14th
Went Christmas shopping with Dawn. Met her dad and Karen for lunch.
Monday 13th
Sunday 12th
Wirral 4 Christ meeting at Oasis church building in Wallasey. It was a pleasant change not to be responsible for anything at a church meeting.
Saturday 11th
Party for Dawn at a friend's house.
Friday 10th
signed on. Getting fed up not working.
Thursday 9th
Wednesday 8th
Went walking around Foel Fenli.
My parents came round with birthday presents.
I didn't go to the gym - well it was my birthday. Musicians.
Tuesday 7th
Dawn picked up her new glasses.
Monday 6th
Legs still sore.
Sunday 5th
I seem to have over done the leg exercises on Friday as my calf muscles feel really tender. Going up and down stairs was particularly painful. I found myself trying to walk around without looking like John Wayne.
Sparklers party at Moira's abode (to celebrate bonfire night).
Saturday 4th
Men's breakfast at church building. I arrived a couple of minutes late because I slept in.
Friday 3rd
Frost covering the roof my the shed in the garden.
I heard that RFA Fort George was berthed in a local shipyard.
Dawn went to the opticians for a new pair of glasses.
We managed to do three gym workouts in a week. We even did a few extra leg exercises.
Thursday 2nd
I spotted the first frost of autumn on my shed roof.
Wednesday 1st
I saw rr sheild, a smallish roro ferry at twelve quays.
Re-arranged cables to tidy the stage for musicians.
