| The tide was out so the lifeboat had to be driven quite a distance to be launched. Later in the afternoon it was announced that the sailing boat was being towed into Liverpool by the lifeboat. A happy ending. |
| The hover craft seen here was on trial. It could be useful for rescuing people stuck in mud. |
| The police helicopter was also present at the open day. I hadn't realised how big helicopters are! |
| A harrier jet also flew past several times. It is amazing watching a jet roar across the sky then see it just stop and hover. Harrier jets saw action in the Falklands conflict. |
