Home of the Beatles and the HQ for the Battle of the Atlantic (WW2). There are two Cathedrals, two Universities and the college of Performing Arts (funded by Paul McCartney). Many of the British insurance companies have their HQs on the Liverpool waterfront. A sizeable percentage of the world's cotton trade is controlled electronically from Liverpool. The picture below shows Liverpool's historic waterfront near the Pierhead.
