The Mayor of the Wirral even took part (in this balloon), flying across the Mersey (2000). This year (2001) we have a different mayor (no there wasn't a ballooning accident last year). |

This picture was taken in the evening and it had just stopped raining. Not the ideal conditions for photography. This year all the balloons remained tethered because of the outbreak of foot-and-mouth in the UK among farm animals (2001) |
