Moel Famau - Red Path

There are many ways to walk from the lower car park to the summit of Moel Famau. The paths are colour coded, the shortest (and steepest) is the red path.

The walk starts from the lower car park and goes to the summit (path shown in red).

Lower Car Park to the Summit
We parked in the lower car park (April 2006). Make sure you have some money with you as there is a small parking charge. We took the path shown in the center of this picture.
Shortly after we came a place where the path split. We took the red path which is the shortest but also the most difficult.
As we came out of the forest the clouds were just above us. I didn't take many pictures on the way up as visibility was poor and I didn't want to get my camera wet. From the summit of Moel Famau I followed Offa's Dyke to Moel Arthur.

From the Jubilee tower on the summit to the lower car park.
Visibility was much improved on the way back.
As the path descends it vanishes into the trees. The car park is at the bottom of the valley... almost back. When we arrived back at the car park I discovered that I had a red face due to wind burn.
