The Halesowen Mob!

This is what we get up to at Haden Hill leisure centre about once a month. Shh..don't let anyone know how much fun it is, it would probably be banned ;-)

Above is a view of the hall end to end, along the tables.

Nigel's new bird!

About the first face to see is jolly Nige Cartwright, organiser of the meeting. He gently relieves us of money and graciously accepts biscuits (cookies) sometimes. As you can see he isn't biased solely towards helicopters.

The photos below are thumbnailed. To prevent eyestrain. click for a larger view as usual.

Nige with Piccolo (25633 bytes)And flying Hornet (30456 bytes)

Here he is with a couple of helis though, just to show he does actually fly.

Halesowen heli group (52653 bytes)

Here are the usual suspects presented for I.D. parade. Apologies for the forgotten names guys.

More of the faces likely to be encountered at Halesowen. No they aren't inebriate, just having a good time.

AlPic01.jpg (57451 bytes)AlFly01.jpg (16812 bytes)

This is Al, readjusting the Pic again, and also showing he can hover it too. With no safety net.

ready for tow (33736 bytes)GO! (30092 bytes)

Special brand of loonies here. These fellows were aerotowing a white foam Zagi-shaped wing behind an "And Now" electric. The glider often got into a low tow position and landed, effectively mooring the tow plane tail down. We didn't laugh.....much. Honest! Special thanks for the chance to fly the And Now, Andrew :o)

Now for a special feature. Do not look at the pictures below. Do not do what they are doing in the pictures. Even at home. Do not believe this actually happened. It was exceptionally funny though.......

This wasn't a Stomper compressed air rocket in the hall? Surely not? And aimed, anti-aircraft style, at unsuspecting planks? Never in the proverbial million years! We certainly seemed to have plenty of spare rockets. Strangely we had plank fliers (sorry, fixed wing pilots) actually loitering their models in front of the anti aircraft bay, presenting themselves in the line of fire. By means of exceptional aiming skills none were actually hit.
