All the teams rely almost totally on donations received from the public. Charitable gifts are always gratefully received, either to specific teams direct, or to mountain rescue generally.
If you wish to financially support the Mountain Rescue Service in the Lake District, the Association will be pleased to receive your donation. The Association equally shares out all it receives to the 13 Teams in the Lake District. If you prefer to donate to one specific Team, the Association will pass any such donations on. Alternatively, you may contact the Team direct.
There are several ways of assisting, some more financially advantageous than others.
1. Donations
Any donations will be warmly received, preferably by
cheque, to the Association's Treasurer (address below).
3. Gift Aid
Gift Aid was brought in to play at the last Budget (2000) to make donating easier for the general public and to try to lessen the impact that the National Lottery has had on charitable donations in general.
Existing Deeds of Covenant are replaced by Gift Aid, but will continue until their expiry dates.
If you wish to make a charitable Gift to LDSAMRA, please print out and complete the appended form.
Please note that Gift Aid only applies if the donor pays income tax at the standard rate.
4. Give As You Earn
This is a tax free way of giving to charities direct from your pay and many employers have agreed to co-operate. The donation is deducted from your pay before your tax deduction is calculated. The Association is registered with the Charities Aid Foundation.
If this appeals to you, please approach your employer with these details:
Charity Name: LDSAMRA

Bank Code: 40-22-16

5. Your WillMany more people are now making provisions in their wills for Mountain Rescue. This thoughtful gesture is helping to ensure the future financial security of Mountain Rescue Teams.
